About the Centre

Vision

The Centre aims to foster, nurture and even provoke leadership qualities in participants of its programmes by innovative training through exposure on various elements of leadership skills, tools and techniques and incubating through research generation of leadership capacity in every level of governance architecture for effective governance in the rapidly changing environment.

Mission

  • Strive for transformational change for effective governance in the State in the rapidly changing context and environment
  • Equip the Government officials to deal in the governance function from the prism of empowering people by honing their leadership skills
  • Inculcate a balanced perspective on the need for order and openness to change for improvement
  • Strive for efficient management practices in the delivery mechanism of assigned duties and responsibilities by updating them on the latest management concepts, tools and techniques.
  • Provide inputs on leadership skills, tools and techniques at various levels of Government Officials to keep the leadership pipeline ready to seamlessly feed the higher levels of positions and responsibilities as required.

Objectives

  • Equip the Government officials with the latest knowledge, attitudes and skills on leadership by conducting regular training programmes on various elements of leadership qualities which, inter-alia, covers motivation, communication, transactional analysis, team work, creativity and stress management in workplace, leadership decision making process, transformation leadership and ethics in governance
  • Employ a well-balanced mix of training methods with the pedagogy/andragogy covering, lectures, group discussions, exercise, role plays, case studies and simulations so as to effectively deliver the desired training objectives
  • Encourage the participants to relate the learning to their own experience needs and situations
  • Impress on participants both functional and attitudinal change requirements so as to create favourable mindsets for effective service delivery
  • Encourage building effective partnerships amongst government, business and civil society to empower people
  • Institute mechanisms for assessing the impacts of transformational leadership process as initiated
  • Carry out periodic research related to the subject of leadership and other connected topics
