    • The AASC Library has a collection of over 50,000 books.
    • They cover an extremely wide range of subjects including literature, science & technology, environment and sustainable development, law, management and leadership development, information technology, social sciences, human rights, public administration including central and state governmental Acts, rules & regulations, popular fiction and best-sellers.
    • It functions as an knowledge resource centre with audio visual facilities.

    Overview

    The library of the Assam Administrative Staff College had its modest beginning in the year 1961 with a collection of about 5000 books. Now the library is one of the major knowledge resources in the North East with a collection of around 50,000 books.The existing collection of books in the library covers major fields such as literature, science & technology, environment and sustainable development, law, management and leadership development, information technology, social sciences, human rights, public administration including central and state governmental Acts, rules & regulations, popular fiction and best-sellers. The library has a rich reference section consisting of different kinds of encyclopaedia, handbooks, reports as well as a special section on studies of the North East Region.

    Eligibility Criteria:

    • All state government officers working in Kamrup (Metro) on the recommendation of their respective heads of department and on payment of Rs.500/- as security deposit. They are entitled to 2 (two) Library cards at a time against which two books can be borrowed.
    • All the officers and staff of Assam Administrative Staff College.
    • Guest faculty members.
    • Participants of different training courses.
    • Selected applicants of the Pre-Examination Training Centre.
    • Candidates who have successfully cleared State / Central Civil Service Prelim Examination are entitled to use the reading space on first come first serve basis (subject to availability) with approval of Director.

    Fees:

    Rs.1,000 (Rupees one thousand  only) as Security Deposit. Students of the Pre-Examination Centre have to pay a refundable Library deposit fee Rs.2000 (Rupees two thousand only ).

    How to apply:

    Application to be made in the AASC Library application form and submitted to the official given below.

    Type of Service:

    The form has to be downloaded, filled and submitted to the Centre. As of now, it is not an online service.
